About RoboPartPicker

RoboPartPicker is a free, source-linked catalogue of open robotics projects and the parts they are built from. It reads public repositories — BOM files, documentation, CAD metadata and URDF — and compiles each project's bill of materials into a list a builder can act on.

How the data is produced

Every BOM line keeps the locator of the file it came from, such as a CSV row or a spreadsheet cell, together with an evidence state: verified, probable, unresolved or unpriced. A line that cannot be matched to an identifiable part stays in the list and says so, rather than being dropped or guessed at. Prices shown anywhere on the site are observed catalogue data, not quotations from a supplier.

What the catalogue holds today

What it is not

RoboPartPicker is not a shop and does not sell parts. It does not treat a shared category as evidence that two parts are interchangeable, and it does not fill in a missing price with an estimate. Supplier coverage is partial, so an absent price means "not observed here", not "unavailable".

Corrections and contributions

The catalogue improves fastest when the people who have built these robots correct it. Corrections, additional sourcing evidence, removal requests and partnership inquiries are welcome through https://robopartpicker.com/partners and https://robopartpicker.com/contact. An open-source project that would rather not be listed can ask and it will be removed.

Using the data programmatically

The catalogue is published read-only through a public MCP server and a JSON API, documented at https://robopartpicker.com/developers.
