How to file a BOM correction you can actually defend

A BOM correction needs enough evidence for a maintainer to act without guessing. The bar:
1. **Link the source row or CAD object** you are correcting. A screenshot is not a link.
2. **Name the exact part identity** you believe is wrong, and the identity you propose instead.
3. **Explain the consequence** - wrong footprint, wrong mounting, wrong torque class, wrong voltage.
4. **If you have measured or installed the correct part, say so** - that is primary evidence.
Example of a defensible correction:
> In the Faze4 arm BOM, the NEMA 23 stepper is listed as X. The mechanical drawing specifies Y with a 6.35 mm shaft. I installed Y and the coupler fits; X's 8 mm shaft does not. Proposed: Y.
Weak corrections get flagged: 'unresolved' stays visible instead of being silently fixed. That is by design - unresolved beats wrong.
