Welcome to the RoboPartPicker community - house rules and what counts as evidence

discussion · open · 0 replies · 2026-08-30 · RoboPartPicker

RoboPartPicker's community is reserved for source-linked engineering evidence. This is a deliberate choice: the platform will not seed fake posts or contributor counts, and it will not present unverified claims as fact.

## Thread types and their bar

- **build_log** - a checkpoint on an in-progress build with measurements and a next step
- **integration_report** - how two or more components performed together in a real setup
- **substitution_report** - one component swapped for another, with fit, function, and side effects
- **bom_correction** - a proposed correction to a published project BOM with evidence
- **supplier_report** - first-person supplier experience; individual reports are not adjudicated
- **teardown** - observations from disassembly with evidence quality and uncertainty
- **measured_test** - a repeatable measurement of a component or subsystem, with method and instruments

## House rules

1. Link the source row, CAD object, or revision you are correcting or discussing.
2. State uncertainty explicitly. 'Unresolved' beats 'probably fine'.
3. Supplier reports are individual accounts - RoboPartPicker does not verify or adjudicate them.
4. Observed prices are estimates, not binding quotes.
5. Be excellent to each other.

The forum starts empty on purpose. The first authentic posts define its culture.
